Wader bowls
have developed from frequent visits to east Suffolk where, in the rivers and reed beds  the wading birds can be seen against the changing colours of water and sky.

I  develop the surface of the hand built terracotta bowls by impressing the clay, adding layers of slip, paper resist and then burnishing .
After a bisque firing I layer engobes and flux to achieve what I hope  is a surface that echoes the  varied and changing nature of the salt marsh.

Surf Bowls
have grown from regular visits to the north
Cornwall coast ,  the wild energy of the breaking Atlantic surf contrasts with the wet sands revealed by the withdrawing tide; changing colour from the sky is reflected on the sands; constantly changing.

My stoneware range includes;
Hares, Ducks and Hens
